Bandmaster is proud to announce the forthcoming publication of the collection of brass band works featured on Tredegar Band’s latest recording, Brass Odyssey, a bold and imaginative release showcasing the music of acclaimed Welsh composer Robin Stevens.
From the imposing title track Brass Odyssey to intimate solo and duet features, including the world premiere of a new Tuba Concerto written for Les Neish, the album highlights the depth, diversity and expressive range of Stevens’ writing.
Under the direction of Ian Porthouse and produced by World of Sound, the recording captures Tredegar’s distinctive musical identity and the close creative partnership between composer and band. Each of Stevens’ works presents its own colour, structure and emotional intent, brought vividly to life by Tredegar’s outstanding musicians.

Stevens’ Brass Odyssey for brass band and eight percussionists stands as one of his most ambitious and expansive works. It is a vivid, large-scale musical journey that reflects his deep understanding of form and imaginative use of instrumental colour.
