£120.00Brass Odyssey is an ambitious and uncompromising work, an unbroken span some twenty-three minutes in duration, divided into two parts.
Elegy (Part I) is a substantial work in its own right. Predominantly slow and quiet, it is probing, even mystical in character, with expressive solos underpinned by searching, dissonant harmonies. In places the music assumes a processional quality, at times reminiscent of a funeral march or religious rite.
Structural cohesion is provided by a three-phrase chorale, which appears three times, and a mysterious fanfare that recurs five times. The final appearance of the fanfare forms the unmistakable climax of the movement, after which the music subsides into near silence.

£30.00Fantasia Drammatica is a powerful duet for two euphoniums that revisits the expressive and stylistic world of its close cousin, the French horn duet Cornutopia. Like the earlier work, it is a formidable tour de force — an intimidating prospect for all but the most accomplished of players.

£40.00Homage to Dufay is a quartet for two euphoniums and two basses, composed to mark the retirement of Dr David Fallows — the distinguished musicologist and specialist in the music of Guillaume Dufay — from Manchester University. As a tribute, the piece is written as a pastiche of the Franco-Flemish master’s style, with the occasional Modernist twist adding colour and wit.
The final section indulges in some playful musical word-play, being based on the well-known song “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” — or, more fittingly, “Fallows.”

£0.00For Remembrance Day ceremonies, the use of Last Post and The Rouse is used to draw the symbolic association between the soldier’s last duty of ‘sitting sentry’ (death) and his ‘rising’ above his mortal duties.
The last note of Last Post marks the beginning of the two minutes of silence. Following the two-minute period of silence, The Rouse is to be sounded.

£100.00Mancunian Fanfare appears in two versions — originally for brass sextet and later this arrangement for full brass band. While the musical material remains identical, the sextet version is more intimate and austere, in contrast to the weightier and more colourful sonority of the full band setting.
